Vanessa Marzaroli is an Emmy-winning commercial and music video director known for her refined design sensibility and bold visual style. A member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA), she brings cinematic polish and conceptual clarity to a wide range of work, blending elegance and playfulness while remaining grounded in authentic storytelling.

With a background in photography, fashion, and design, Vanessa’s work spans live-action brand films, social campaigns, immersive experiences, and fully animated commercial campaigns. She has directed for global brands including Netflix, Amazon, Audi, HP, Visa, Target, and Dole. Her Audi A7 “Imagination” spot received an AICP Design Award and remains a standout example of her ability to merge striking aesthetics with thoughtful design.

Vanessa’s career began with the breakout success of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy, where she served as animation director. The video became a cultural touchstone, earning a VMA for Best Direction and helping define a new visual era.

Her music video work continues to receive recognition. Double Sided Girl was recently featured in the Flux series at the Hammer Museum, as well as at the SLO Film Fest and LAPFF, and won a London Director’s Award. Her earlier video What’s Your Fantasy for Polartropica earned Best Director honors at the London Director Awards, Luminous Frame Festival, and LA Film Fest, along with a nomination at the Berlin Music Video Awards.

Originally from Thailand, Vanessa moved to Los Angeles in her teens, where she pursued classical piano alongside her twin sister. Vanessa is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design and has been a long time collaborator with Mirada. She was a Creative Director for some of the industries most well respected production companies including Logan, Blind and Motion Theory. Her work has been honored by the Art Directors Club, D&AD, The Type Directors Club, the AICP Awards, BDA, Prix Arts, and Cannes Film Festival.

She lives in LA with her husband, their two kids, and a very large Pomeranian named Lewis.
